Hot or Not: - What Gay Men Can Wear Without
Looking Frumpy
Looking good is essential no matter where you
go or what you do. The great thing about fashion is that it isn't always
about what's in this season, or how much money you have. There are plenty
of ways you can look good without spending hundreds on a new suit or a designer
label. The important thing is that you look comfortable in your clothing.
You want something to suit your own personality because style is relative.
If it looks good, and feels good, you will show a side of yourself that helps
you to appear stylish. The following tips are all about style and what will
make you look good - along with the things to avoid.
Tip
1 -
Be
Original
Repeat after me
"I am not Denzel Washington, nor am I Ashton Kutcher;
Brad Pitt; or George Clooney." Excellent! Now that we have that out of the
way you now know that your style isn't necessarily their style.
Just because certain clothing looks good on your favorite celebrity doesn't
mean it will look good on you. Buying something just because it looks good
on a star is not only silly, it's an expensive mistake to make. Borrowing
someone else's style does not make you hot. It makes you unoriginal.
Tip 2 - Shop Outside the
Box
If you want to find a great outfit that suits your
style - and is definitely one of a kind - it may appear to be harder than
you think. You may have to go where some people wouldn't think to go.
You will be able to find a lot of fabulous picks at the mall, but the problem
is so will everyone else. Consider doing a little online shopping
to find those exotic picks that a lot of boys in your area won't have. You
could also check the local second hand shops if you are looking for a bargain
vintage item.

Tip 3 - Mix & Match
Mix and match your designer duds for a hot look
that some won't be expecting. If you are going through your closet and you're
not in the mood for any particular designer then work on making your own
fashion. Choose some pants by one designer, a shirt or blazer by another,
and a belt by a third. Go wild and choose your favorite items which match
without regard to designer. If you want to look hot sometimes that means
you will need to look at the item and not the tag.
Tip 4 -
Color
Variety
Use as many colors of the
rainbow as you can. When you open your closet you want to see a variety of
colors. There should not be any one specific color that takes up a large
portion of your closet. Having a wide variety of colors allows you to match
your outfit with the season as well as your mood. If it's winter and you're
feeling like a million dollars you can wear a nicely colored top and brighten
up the area around you.
Tip 5 - Avoid Fashion
Reporters
Finally, you should work to avoid all fashion reporters.
As nice as the Melissa Rivers bunch is they do tend to make more fashion
faux pas than anyone in history. Learn the appropriate look for you by
experimentation. Try on your clothes at the store. You want something that
fits your body well and is right for the occasion you are shopping for. For
instance, you might want your work clothes to be a little bit more on the
comfortably loose side. Meanwhile, you may want your clubbing clothes to
be a might tight and seductive.
Tip 6 - Dress to Feel
Good
When picking out your clothes be selfish. It's going to be you wearing
them, and as long as you feel good in them others will think you look
good. The most important thing when choosing your ensemble is that you are
satisfied with how you look, and this satisfaction will project a
feeling of success and self-appreciation. This attitude, alone, will radiate
an air of self-confidence about you that will lead you to the top - no
matter where you are.
